*** Longcliffe Care Home ***
For Easter we visited Longcliffe Care Home to celebrate with the residents. After talking about going to see our friends to make Easter bonnets the children were very excited to walk up the hill to Longcliffe. When we arrived, the children introduced themselves and then chose a resident to decorate with. They were given an Easter bonnet, stickers, chicks and feathers and everyone got stuck in! The children enjoyed decorating the bonnets and some of the residents too, Jim was covered in feathers and loved every minute of it! After the exciting activity we had a biscuit and drink for snack, the children used wonderful manners by saying please and thank you.
The surprise was then ready, Hattie the Easter Bunny had left the children Easter egg pictures to find, they were placed around the room high and low in hidden places. The children were asked to find the eggs, collect the pictures and count them at the end. Once all the Easter pictures had been collected, Longcliffe staff members asked us all to sit nicely as they had another surprise for us. We all received a big Easter egg and the best present ever…a little Easter egg that contained a little or big chick in it, the children were very excited to wind them up and watch them start to move!
Having received our gifts we said goodbye, put our coats on and started the walk home. We walked beautifully back to Watermead singing songs to everyone,we were so happy as we had such a lovely morning with our elderly friends.
Thank you very much Longcliffe for welcoming us once again, we look forward to seeing you in May. Thank you Mel and Ayla for our very exciting adventure.
