Sensory Room

Sensory rooms are all about offering children rich and varied experiences which will enable them to use their senses. The benefits children relish from accessing sensory experiences are huge; it stimulates their brain leading to vast learning opportunities.

Sensory rooms are a great place for children to escape to and unwind from the busy nursery room. Instilling a calm and tranquil space enables children to relax and let their exploratory minds evolve. As soon as babies are born they are developing their senses from day one, it is important to use the walls and the ceiling to create sensory experiences as babies especially enjoy looking up at different contrasts, colours and shadows.

Room leader Emma continues…..

“Our babies in Baby room 2 really enjoy using the sensory room. It is equipped with highly stimulating and interactive spaces where they can explore a vast array of multi-sensory areas. In the sensory room we have sensory balls, stacking pebbles, a bubble tube and a light box with lit pebbles. The children are able to change the colours themselves by simply pressing a button.

The snuggle pod provides a cosy area to relax, look at picture books and play Peek-a-boo.

Our babies also enjoy exploring the dream coracle sleeping beds, the children can access these at all times. They even enjoy using their imagination to pretend they are boats whilst singing “row row row your boat”!”
